Privacy Policy

This is a placeholder Privacy Policy intended for the soft-launch phase of the High Mountain Meats Personal Meat Coach. Before marketing the app publicly, replace this with a policy reviewed by counsel.

What we collect

When you create a Coach account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. All of this is stored locally in your browser using localStorage — it does not leave your device unless you submit it to one of our AI-powered features.

Your box inventory, saved recipes, meal plans, learning progress, and cooking preferences are also stored in localStorage on your device.

When data leaves your device

The AI-powered features (Generate Recipe, Photo Coach, Meal Plan, Box Recipes, Box Photo identification) send the contents of your request — including any photos you upload and the inventory you describe — to Anthropic, Inc., our AI partner, for processing. Anthropic processes the request and returns a recipe or analysis. We do not store these requests on our servers.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your data with marketing partners.
• We do not have access to your account password — it's hashed client-side and never sent to our servers.
• We do not track you across other websites or use third-party ad networks.

Cookies and analytics

The Coach uses essential local storage for your account and preferences. We may add privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible or Fathom) in the future — when we do, this section will be updated and we'll never use third-party tracking pixels or behavioral ad cookies.

Your rights

You can clear all your Coach data at any time by signing out and clearing your browser's local storage for this site, or by contacting us at highmountainmeats.com/contact.
